Here are some of my own notes about the characters in the AD&D campaign

My old character - GwynBeron

GwynBeron is a grey elf fighter-mage (6/6). Whilst not strong in any area he isn't too weak in other areas. A typical all-rounder.

Latest: GwynBeron made it up to 8/8 before meeting his untimely end. Having got the party into numerous scrapes (sphere of annilation meeting a dimensional gate/4 mile drops etc etc) He conlcuded his short career with a mind numbing soul swapping with the halfing thief...

My new character - "Frost-Born"

Theuderic Lothar Gunthchramn son of Merovich, son of Gundovald son of Theudebald, or Frost-Born, as his mates call him, is a dwarven Holy Champion of Torm (now lvl 8). Whilst not too strong, he has heroic constitution and is pretty nimble and wise too. Old Frosty can take quite a few hits before getting in touble and is more than willing to put himself on the line to aid the promotion of goodness in the realms. He particularly dispises undead and has a number of innate abilities that help him deal with them.

So far the biggest blunder he's made was when we discovered a resting spot frequented by the party was actually an evil shrine/temple/holy spot. There was also a very evil hammer present. Frost-born had a desire to rid the realms of such items so started pouring holy water over it. After some explosions and several warnings (the party failed to stop him either) the evil god summoned some powerfull creature to destroy the party. A tough battle followed and eventually it was defeated, however the evil god's retribution destroyed nearly all that the party owned. Somewhat slowing recent progress... Frosty still maintains it was the right thing to do.

The others

Yale Barrowthane

Yale - played by Rick Owen: Yale Barrowthane is a dual class ranger and psionist (lvls 10 and 12 respectively). The son of a a merchant he was born in Baldor's Gate but fled the region and found relegion in the forests. After travelling south he met his old friend Ciranor, a wood elf and together they joined the royal militia in the kingdom's capital. From this point Yale led the special operations team known as the Company of the Iron Crocodile. After a year or two this company was charged with the elimination of banditry activities within th kingdom, and since then has been pursuing that goal, following the ringleaders of gangs of outlaws far out of the kingdom itself.

In the course of his operations Yale has become known as a friend to the small communities of benevolent drow, those that shun the spider queen and other evil gods. However in peril he has also invoked the aid of three deities and his lifetime is devoted to fulfilling his debt to them. In one case he has promised to re-unite the elven people: drow to surface elf. His own party represents a cross-section of elven society and is intended to be an example to others in this respect.

Culwych

Culwych - played by Andrew Brennard: Born on the 1st Nonen 1021 to a family of Ostlers on the Moonshaes Culwych soon became bored of the rigours of service and came to loathe the work his father set him. He stowed away on a raiding Northmen longship and jumped ship off the Sword Coast. Falling in with a band of dwarves he learned the stone-cutters craft, and once he had served his apprenticeship he returned home to work as a mason on the Moonshaes. Sadly he became restless once more, and while working on the house of a wealthy merchant he fell into conversation with the seneschal who detected a strong mind and decided to train Culwych as a mage. Natural predisposition to earth and stone meant that Geomancy attracted his attention, and he soon outgrew the limitations of his new teacher. Once more he set off back across the sea to learn his chosen art at the feet of Tycho Jhelom, a Geomancer of great repute on the Sword Coast.

This new teacher was never found. Culwych followed rumours in an attempt to track down Tycho, but never found him. He fell in with a party of adventurers and learned his craft not in a dusty library but on the field of combat. His bravery and prowess were noted and he was recomended to the Company of The Iron Crocodile, where he has served under the command of Yale Barrowthane for a number of years. He has prospered while with the Company and his adventures, far from wearying him, have re-invigorated him with the energies of youth. He plans to leave the Company sometime in the next few years to pursue a career of politics back in his homeland of the Moonshaes.

Culwych is a human geomancer (earth elementalist - lvl12). Heralding from the Moonshades he has an affinity for dwarfs, a slight distaste for elves but a colossal distaste for drow. His position as sole magic user in the party has recently changed with the addition of GywnBeron who he seems to look upon as an apprentice, negating some of dislike he has for GwynBeron's race (I think).

Shar

Shar - played by Matt Redgrave: Shar is a drow fighter/psionist. Matt (a successful tournament player) does extremely well to play this very complex character. My character doesn't get on at all well with Shar just yet, but that's because he's still young and very anti-drow. If they ever got past the racial tensions they would probably get on really well as they seem to have similar outlooks on life.

Weird stuff happened. Shar is now also a water mage and having great fun with firing off lighting bolts left right and centre. Now that GwynBeron's gone, party tensions have been taken up with the resident Drow Killer (Harvey's character, more info soon.)

Shader

Shader - played by Harvey Barker: Shader C'Maarak is a wood elf devoted to the following of Shevarash, the Black Archer. Hunter of Drow, particularly those who follow the teachings of Lolth, Shevarash followers believe in extermination of the ebony elves is all they are good for. Currently on secondment to the Company of the Iron Crocodile from the Royal Corps of Scouts, Shader finds himself serving under the Earl alongside several drow... This has landed him in hot water before now.

A pleasant enough elf once you get to know him, Shader is friendly and loyal to his friends. A militant priest of Shevarash, Shader serves as a very menial and loyal bodyguard to the Earl, although secretly an Orc with half a brain and a strong arm could rip Shader limb from limb!
